The lab of prof Pelicci at the DEO of IEO has one open position as postdoctoral fellow in applied bioinformatics. Main interest of the lab is the investigation of cancer-associated molecular mechanisms, with a strong focus on (gen)omic approaches and clinical data analyses.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the analysis of large genomic and epigenomic datasets. The applicants must have excellent analytical skills, a strong statistical background, ability to work independently and as part of a team, very good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills to efficiently interact with collaborators, and write and/or contribute to research reports and publications for peer-reviewed journals.
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in any of biology, bioinformatics, maths, statistics, computer science or engineering, beside a testified large experience in NGS data analysis, applied to genetics or epigenetics studies. The applicant should have strong programming skills (Python, Perl, C++ or Java) and confidence with statistical analysis softwares such as R or Matlab.
Candidates must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
